I think i have never loved a fragrance this much. Right from the first time i smelled this I immediately fell in love, something about this captivated me! This is also one of the first non celeb perfume that i bought. This fragrance is a beauty all year around but definitely the best in summer and spring. During summer and spring the nectarine really has it’s main character moment , whilst in the winter and fall the violet has it’s main character moment. The note of Peach is the Champagne she sips from that matches the Liquid luster of gold Bed sheets in a Luxurious Red & Gold Penthouse overlooking 5th Avenue On New Years Eve, As Yvresse dries to the middle the Innocent

UPDATE (next day): well, this one is actually not bad, might be even enjoyable, but for those who have experienced the original one this one might not be enough. While original one was like a dance of champagne bubbles this one is more like a sad purple rain. Going by the tester card I couldnt deal with this all day, but, in winter and layered Yvresse might perform differently.

There HAS TO BE at least some BENZOIN and some CINNAMON and SPICES in this, as well as a WHIPPED CREAM ACCORD and maybe even some STRAWBERRIES because I sure as hell am smelling them! I know this has been voted as a fall/winter scent but on this hot day in summer, I am transported to a fantasy world with pink fluffy clouds, pink flamingos wearing sunglasses, a cheerful, upbeat beach/pool scene in a totally stylized neon-colored fantasy world of the late 80's/early 90's. I totally understand why this was originally called Champagne because I really do get that light fizzy,fruity pink champagne peach bellini feeling. When my husband and I bought Grandma's house last year and my mother-in-law cleaned out the basement, a rare find was found in one of the basement rooms. There was a separate room in the basement just for Grandpa and his worn horse clothes, riding pants, etc. Grandma wanted it that way.... My mother-in-law actually found a small bottle of Yvresse among all the clothes. Since the bottle was still well filled, she probably thought it was too bad to throw it away. And that was a good thing. So where to put the bottle she found? Sure, off to the daughter-in-law, who has such a soft spot for fragrances. Well my mother in law knows me ;-) I don´t know if "Yvresse" is different than original "Champagne" formula, i only have original Champagne and never tried the "Yvresse" version, except this one. It is truely light and warm weather friendly. The rose is barely there. The focus is mimosa, peach, lilac anc possibly freesia/lily? Its almost aquatic and a little goumand. There is a small chypre accord of patcholi, oakmoss and a whisper of vetiver on a most fragile base of sandalwood/cedar. It lasts about 3 hours with minimal projection.

Common Uses

Although Yvress is inspired by champagne, I am not sure whether I get a fizzy feeling, but I do get an uplifting fun feeling from the lychee – one of my favourite fruits – and peachy nectarine opening. Lychee in particular is a wonderful, fleshy, tropical fruit with a light and bright fruity aroma that sings freely through the top of the perfume. Perhaps it is the patchouli, which I get relatively upfront when I spray on my skin, that grounds the fruit with an earthy, decidedly non-bubbly tone. However, the patchouli is also integral to the chypre structure, which is what gives it a more sophisticated feeling that does gel well with the occasion of drinking champagne. There is only a touch of sweetness in this fragrance, which is mostly caused by the coconut, cinnamon, litchi and vanilla. This sweetness is not unpleasant, just a little odd at first. Something that your nose will need time to adjust to. The original was a real powerhouse in sillage and longevity and the Collection version is to be sprayed with consideration too. Personally I use too sprays max, and even one spray is enough if you want to use this on an everyday basis. I wouldn't call this office safe, more of a special moment scent. (Which to me can mean anything from a happy day off work or a big festivity) The collection bottle will last you a long time.
