Now, I’ll give a quick little bullet point review, but I think the before and after pictures will be enough to show the difference it can make.

Professional formula infuses your hair evenly whilst deeply conditioning your hair to help leave you with natural looking shine. This was the colour we dyed over: not freshly dyed, because as we learned from the Mystic Violet review, my hair goes black after first being dyed, which is the same with the Superdrug dye, but this was a few washes afterwards. I first mixed Mystic Purple with Pink Pizazz, I did add far too much purple to start and it turns out the colour I was looking for was the exact colour of Pink Pizazz, so if I had two of those I would have got the perfect colour immediately. It was over one and a half years ago when I first tried Colour Freedom (you can read the review here), and I did really like them, it just wasn’t cost-effective with the look that I was trying to achieve at the time.As with most semi-permanent hair dyes, they advise that you leave it on to develop for 30mins to achieve a bright colour. But, with purple, due to it being a red based dye, it fades very, very quickly, as all red dyes and red based dyes do. I’ve been a Renbow Crazy Color user for years (after a falling out with a Stargazer dye) but while wandering through my local Superdrug, I couldn’t help but pick up a box from the new Colour Freedom range. I think we can agree, this is firmly mermaid hair, while the picture above we nicknamed ‘Swamp Queen’ hair.
The box comes with an instruction leaflet and gloves (standard) but also this wheel showing how, using their “Pasteliser” (sold separately), you can turn the colours in to My Little Pony-esque pastel shades.
Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The consistency is thick enough that it coats each hair without any dripping and the colour straight from the tube is WOW.
Colour Freedom is a range of 8 semi-permanent colours that ideally should be used on pre-lightened/light hair, however, the reason I shock many people when they see my hair in person is that I rarely ever bleach it, so I didn’t for this either. I think I definitely want to start using these towards when my hair needs bleaching to hide my dark roots, and make sure my hair looks the best as possible.
I tried going silver with colour freedom, after making my hair almost white blonde, and it didn’t touch it at all! This product contains ingredients that may cause skin irritation on certain individuals, and a preliminary sensitivity test should be done before using the product, following instructions below and on the box and in the instructions. We advise, and it is stated on the product instructions, everyone should perform a strand test before dyeing their hair, even if they have used the product before, as that ensures they will achieve the right result.It didn’t actually last as long this time, but I do think that’s down to my hair not having as much colour buildup as before to hold onto the dye, as my other dyes are wearing off just as fast now.
